In the past couple years, you've probably heard of characters in a variety of animated shows and interactive titles being recast for "authenticity." Some say this is great for representation. Some say that actors should be able to play anyone. This panel will get into the details of the LGBTQIA+ part of this debate, including why queer authenticity is important, why it's bigger than casting, and why it's not about acting chops. Led by JP Karliak, founder of Queer Vox (a non-profit online academy and community for LGBTQIA+ voice actors) and the voice of Boss Baby (The Boss Baby: Back in Business) and Green Goblin (Spidey and His Amazing Friends).
